About Michelle

michelle-imgMy journey to Mindfulness began years ago, as I sought a secular approach to establishing daily ritual and inner calm with my international, tri-lingual family. (We need to come together somehow, right?! 😉
In the process, I took the now-famous Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course via U-Mass, became certified as a facilitator through the wonderful organization, Mindfulness Without Borders, and completed educator and parenting courses through Mindful Schools, yet another great organization reaching out to students from all walks of life. Via UC-Berkeley, I completed a lovely course in The Science of Happiness. I have degrees in Spanish and Anthropology, an Emphasis in Linguistics, and Certification in Teaching English as a Second Language, and a strong, strong passion and interest in the intersections of human development, education, and

behavioral economics. As an aside (yet not completely unrelated), I’m busy learning more about Permaculture whilst tending my garden daily. Planting seeds and watching them flourish in both the metaphorical and literal sense, are keys to my own happiness. Being a mom 24/7 brings this all home.

All of the above bring me to the point that, first and foremost, I am a mom, with a highly vested interest in the future of global education. Key to the founding of this company is the fact I was an educator before I became a mother. In the past, I focused on being an ESL, Spanish, & Accent Reduction Instructor, a Voice-Over Artist with Characters and Dialects Galore, an Actor, and a Bilingual (Spanish-English) Content Writer. Currently, while reaching out to local classrooms, I also hope to develop an online Mindfulness series, accessible to children, parents, and teachers around the globe.
