Pre-K Mindfulness & Empathy

We will come to your classroom for 15-30 minutes each week to deliver hands-on activities for the 3 to 5-year-old set. Students will learn Mindfulness and Empathy, with a strong focus on Social Emotional Learning. We wish to give children a strong base in which to build a lifetime of relationship skills, social and self-awareness, guiding them in self-management and decision-making skills. We'll do this through play, puppetry, and storytelling, in addition to using breathing, listening, and even eating techniques to help them focus, calm themselves, and learn to just be a kid the way it was meant to be: joyfully, with attention to the beautiful world around them.
As with all of our classes, classroom teachers and school
contacts will serve as support and continuing practitioners to ensure students take moments to practice each day.
It is our hope that teachers and counselors will develop their own Mindfulness practices. We’re always here to support your daily Mindfulness practice. Just call us when you need us.

Middle and High School Mindfulness

We will facilitate councils of ambassadors to serve as role models for the entire school. Each week, a group of volunteer students will circle together in council to practice Mindfulness and discuss how it applies directly to their lives and that of their peers. Students share, practice, and learn in a safe, calm environment as they learn techniques that will help with moment-to-moment focus and test-prep, as they enhance their own Social Emotional Learning and apply it to their daily lives. When in council, we wish to have a school counselor or teacher present to help ensure practices continue, as well as serving the school as the go-to advisor for continuing Mindful education. At this level, we do wish
to ensure the students are very accountable for what they learn
in council, and hope to develop a very symbiotic relationship between student ambassadors, ourselves, and our point-person(s) at school.

Mindful Parents

Parenting is the most challenging role many of us will ever take. How do we remain calm during tantrums? How do we guide our children, from toddlers to teens, with kindness? We do it, in part, by developing our own Mindful practice and incorporating it into our daily lives as parents. In these sessions we’ll work together to develop a Mindfulness practice as it applies directly to parenting. Children mimic the behavior we model. Let’s model kindness, compassion, and Mindfulness.
